School Year Tuition and Fees
2019-2020 School Year
* $60 per student or $90 per family due August 1st, or when enrolling for lessons. Of this, $10 per individual or $15 per family is a non-refundable registration fee
* Reserves a student's lesson time for school year lessons. A lesson time will not be reserved until the deposit is received.
* Covers materials given to the student by the instructor, such as books and any other fees such as contest fees.
* Any balance remaining in May can be applied to summer lessons if the student has taken lessons continuously for the school year.
* This deposit is not refundable if the student chooses to discontinue lessons or not take summer lessons.
* If the instructor chooses to discontinue lessons, the remaining balance will be applied to the last month's tuition
Two tuition options are available for the months of September - May:
The year is divided into 4 quarters, 3 during the school year and one during the summer.
Three payments of $286 (30 minute) or $429 (45 minute) are due on the 1st of September (covers Sept -Nov ), the 1st of December (covers Dec - Feb), and the 1st of March (covers March - May).
Nine payments of $104 (30 min) or $156 (45 min) are due on the 1st of each month from Sept. - May
*Tuition reserves a student's exclusive lesson time. It does not include music books, supplies, contest fees, or any other fees. Failure to pay tuition forfeits the student's lesson time.
*You may switch tuition plans at the beginning of September, December and March.
*Tuition and registration fees also covers Jenna's continuing education expenses, fees for MMTA membership, convention, and time spent for recitals, and prepping students for events
*Payment is accepted in cash or checks made payable to Jenna Popp.
*No refunds will be offered either for missed lessons or if you cancel lessons.
*Any student starting mid-month will pay the pro-rated lesson fee of $26 per 30 minute lesson or $39 per 45 minute lesson for their first month of lessons and then the regular tuition fee for all other months.
*There will be a $10 late fee for monthly tuition payments received after the 1st of the month, and $25 late fee for quarterly payments received after the due date.
*Lessons will be taught from Tuesday, September 3rd until Friday, May 29th. There will be no lessons on the following dates: November 27th-29th (Thanksgiving), December 16th-January 3rd (Winter break), and March 30-April 3rd (spring break). Due to the extra week off in December, there will be times available to schedule one lesson during those 3 weeks. Detailed information will be sent closer to the date.
*Enrollment in lessons is a purchase of teacher and studio time, reserved exclusively for your child. Since the time passes whether the student uses it or not, a lesson missed is time lost. Therefore, I do not give tuition adjustments or make-up lessons.
*Lessons via Skype or FaceTime are a viable option on bad weather days, or when the student is well enough for a lesson, but doesn't want to share germs (runny nose, etc.)
*Please try and schedule as much as you can around your lesson time. However, unavoidable conflicts do occasionally arise. If you are unable to make your scheduled lesson time, you may contact me to reschedule your lesson to another open time I may have during my teaching hours that week. You also have the option of being on a swap list with other students to change schedules when needed. Any time changes must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance.
*If I must reschedule your regular lesson time, the lesson will be scheduled at a time mutually convenient for both student and teacher
*Students arriving late will not be given extra time to make up for their tardiness
*Due to vacation schedules, camps, and other summer activities, you may choose how many lessons you schedule in June, July, and August
*Students taking 6 or more summer lessons will receive fall enrollment priority. Students not taking summer lessons will register after students who took 6 or more summer lessons
*Summer sign up information will be available in May
*While teaching, my focus is on the student I am teaching. Please do not drop your child off more than 5 minutes before their lesson time, as it distracts from the current student's time.
*You are welcome to sit in on lessons at any time, however if you must bring other children, they need to be quiet and respectful
*Anyone entering the studio must remove their shoes
*No food or drink is allowed in the studio. No smoking in the studio or on studio property
*Students will bring all materials to every lesson. A tote bag is recommended
*Students are expected to practice 5 or more days each week. A guideline of practice time is approximately the same time as their lesson
*Students will have an assignment notebook, (or use Google docs) that they are expected to read and follow at home
*Students are expected to have a tuned piano or weighted key electronic piano and metronome for home practice
*Should the student need to terminate lessons for any reason, 30 days notice is expected. Your enrollment deposit will not be refunded
Refer to the schedule for the 2019-2020 school year. There are many opportunities available each year such as; studio recital, MMTA contest, MMTA exams, Festival of Trees, and Samaritan Bethany nursing home.
